With bee populations dwindling around the world a need has arisen to facilitate growth encouraging pollinators success and food security for all populations.
Many people want to help, but have no idea what to do or where to start.
Get Involved
Host a Hive looks to take advantage of city bylaws that have eradicated harmful pesticides in the City of Toronto and surrounding areas. Host a Hive allows you to be part of the movement by hosting hives on your existing owned land or roof space. We are experienced, insured and happy beekeepers looking for happy honey loving hosts to provide space to share in the experience and the honey.
How it Works
Host a Hive takes full responsibility of the hives including set up, maintenance, honey, harvesting and pest control.
The Host provides a low traffic accessible space to host a minimum of 2 hives, with unobstructed access weekly to bi-weekly from April to October.
The Bees forage nearby, generally mind their own business pollinating, make honey and more bees!
In exchange, the bees provide honey which is split between the hives for winter, the host and Host a Hive.
